Hot water is the start of every good camp morning. COLETTI camping kettles come in stainless steel and classic blue enamel, sized for camp stoves, campfire grates, and the stovetop at home. Use them for pour-over coffee, French press, tea, instant oatmeal, or hot cocoa around the fire.
At COLETTI, we focus on one thing: great coffee outside. As a veteran-owned company, we build heavy-duty camping percolators for real outdoor use, from campfire mornings and hunting trips to RV travel, cabins, and family weekends in the woods.
No fragile plastic. No throwaway parts. No aluminum shortcuts. Just durable stainless steel camp coffee pots and campfire coffee percolators built to last, so you can stop worrying about your gear and focus on making memories outdoors.
A camping percolator is usually better for campfires, RV trips, cabins, and group camping because it is more durable and can be used directly over heat. A French press can make smoother coffee, but it is usually less rugged for outdoor use.
Yes, stainless steel is often a better choice for camping because it is durable, long-lasting, and does not rely on aluminum or plastic parts. It is also easier to trust for repeated campfire, stovetop, and outdoor brewing use.
A good starting point is about 1 tablespoon of coarse-ground coffee per cup of water. For stronger camp coffee, you can add a little more. Avoid fine grounds because they can make the coffee bitter and leave sediment in the pot.
The best camping percolator for campfires is made from thick stainless steel that can handle direct heat from flames or hot coals. Durable construction, strong handles, and simple parts ensure the pot won’t warp or fail during real outdoor use. A solid steel percolator delivers dependable coffee anywhere you build a fire.
Yes. Most camping percolators are designed to handle open flame or hot coals. Place the pot on a grate or near the coals and let it perk slowly. Gentle heat produces the best flavor.
Stainless steel percolators are durable, heat-resistant, and built for outdoor use. Unlike aluminum or plastic components, stainless steel does not affect the flavor of coffee and holds up well over years of camping trips.
Percolators made from heavy-duty stainless steel tend to last the longest. Their strong construction resists dents, corrosion, and heat damage from campfires.
Coffee usually perks for about 4–7 minutes once the brewing cycle starts. Shorter times create lighter coffee, while longer brewing produces a stronger flavor.
A coarse grind works best because it allows water to circulate through the coffee grounds without over-extracting flavor.
Choose a size based on how many people you’re serving. A 6–9 cup percolator works well for couples or small groups, while larger pots are better for group camping.
Remove the basket and stem, discard used grounds, rinse with warm water, and use mild soap if needed. Let all parts dry completely before storing.
